OnlyFans is currently a leading platform for adult creators. Keep reading to find out more about the platform below.

We have an OnlyFans glossary further down the page if you need explanation to some of the terms we used.

What is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is an internet content subscription service, used by adult creators. The platform allows users to sell/buy adult content from other users. Creators will determine the subscription price of their account, to allow users to view their content. Creators can also upsell

Creators are producing content for other users who have to pay to get full access to the content. OnlyFans allows NSFW content on the platform. Adult creators find it very challenging to promote their accounts online.

Tim Stokely founded OnlyFans in 2016 in London, United Kingdom. The platform achieved enormous success during the early stages of the pandemic. It hasn’t stopped growing ever since.

Many celebrities joined the platform, which spiked the popularity all around the world. OnlyFans currently has over 1,7 million subscribers and over 1,5 million creators. (Source: OnlyFans Statistics)

The platform takes up to 20% off your earnings, which is higher than most of other similar platforms.

Popular OnlyFans questions

That’s totally up to you. For security and privacy reasons many models do not want to show their face. You can still make a living off OnlyFans even without showing your face. However, it is recommended that you have other qualities that will attract fans to your account.

Yes, you can. Go to “Settings”, click on “Security” and choose countries you want to block. You can even block a specific state or area. Many creators don’t want their loved ones to know and see they are on OnlyFans, so they decide to hide their identity.

OnlyFans currently has over 170 million subscribers and over 1.5 million creators. Approximately 500 new sign ups each day mean a steady and fast growth of the platform in the future. The United States dominates the platform in terms of users, followed by the United Kingdom, Canada, Netherlands and Australia.

An average OnlyFans model makes $150 a month. Top earning models can make $5,000 to $100,000 a month. The amount you earn depends on the number of subscribers you have, how much they tip you, how much you engage with them and how frequently you post.

OnlyFans was founded in 2016 but didn’t get much traction right away. Two years later, Leonid Radvinsky acquired 75% of OnlyFans and changed their focus primarily towards NSFW. The major spike in growth happened in 2020, when the global pandemic occurred. Thousands of people ended up losing their jobs, so many decided to find different options to make money online.

You can only have two active OnlyFans profiles. Many creators have one free account to attract fans and one subscription based account to make money. You can connect both accounts in settings.

Subscription fees range between $4.99 and $49.99 per channel.

OnlyFans has a referral program but you need to have an account to generate the link. Go to your profile and click on the “My Referral” tab to access your unique referral link. You will make profit each time a new creator signs up from your referral link.
